Hospital-acquired infections are a major and growing problem worldwide. Not only do they cost around 1.4 billion euros a year, which represents a considerable economic burden, they also pose a major threat to patients: Throughout Germany, about 15.000 people die every year from infections transmitted in hospitals.

HygNova GmbH addresses this challenge with its IoT hygiene concept, in which smart hygiene dispensers are combined with room monitoring - fully DSGVO-compliant without wearables.

According to a recommendation of the World Health Organization, the compliance of hand disinfection can be documented and localized within the five indications. The aim is to increase hand disinfection and the associated avoidance of hospital-acquired infections.
